Augmentin, also known as Amoxicillin/Clavulanic Acid, is a widely used antibiotic medication composed of two active ingredients, Amoxicillin and Clavulanic Acid. Amoxicillin is an antibiotic that belongs to the penicillin class and works by stopping the growth of bacteria that cause infections. Clavulanic acid helps to balance the bacteria in your gut, which in turn helps to decrease the likelihood of bacteria developing resistance to amoxicillin. Amoxicillin is available as both oral and intravenous forms and is frequently prescribed for various infections, including sinusitis, urinary tract infections, and certain dental procedures.
The global market for Augmentin is experiencing significant growth, driven by several key factors.
